Every single time I participate and engage with my local community for NaNoWriMo, one of the things that sticks out to me is how often I see the reminder to ‘back up your work’. Many budding authors enduring the madness of the 50,000 word challenge have come unstuck amid the chaos. Any number of things could cause such devastation as the loss or corruption of the document, so you should always remember to back up your work!
Turns out, that applies to websites too.
Last September I realised something was wrong with my website, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was wrong. So anyway, RIP to my website pre-September 2022. I can comb through the databases still and find old blog posts if I’m brave enough to dig through and resurrect them—and I may do so for some—but instead I’m trying to view this as a mostly fresh start. One where I can focus on my obsessions of reading, writing, gaming, and developing and exploring digital spaces, designs, and identities.
Much of my old content had already either been deleted anyway, or had been submissions for university assignments. A change will be good!
2023 is already shaping up to be a massive year for me personally, and I’m hoping I’ll get to share my adventures with you all as I meander through it. Watch this space for video content, and information on the upcoming release of my novel re-writes for my first two books: The Last King & The Gem of Orithian.
Stay in touch, and don’t forget you can join my Discord server to chat with myself and other super cool individuals!
